| "Singing in the shower" Contest coming to Ferndale |

| FERNDALE — As a follow-up to his wildly successful 50-hour “Danny Boy” marathon this past St. Patrick’s Day, A.J. O’Neil — owner of AJ’s Café, 240 W. Nine Mile Road, in downtown Ferndale — is holding a “Singing in the Shower” contest from 2 to 6 p.m. on August 10 |

The idea for the quirky event came to O’Neil as a way to hold accountable the dozens of local residents who refused to sing “Danny Boy” because, as they said, “I only sing in the shower.”
Presented in conjunction with the Detroit Together Men’s Chorus, the fun-filled, charitable and “G-rated” event will include more than 50 participants singing in a real working shower onstage at AJ’s Café.
There will also be a photo area available for the singers, a putt-putt challenge and a car wash. All proceeds from the “Singing in the Shower” contest will benefit the Detroit
